Pack of 1,500 Life Center events to see Ben Carson


Dr. Ben Carson was the keynote speaker at the Life Center’s fall fundraiser on Tuesday night at the Horseshoe.

Center officials said 1,500 people were on hand to hear the former presidential candidate and the former housing and urban development secretary talking to “common sense” people.

Dr. Carson reminded the audience that “we cannot be the land of the free without being the home of the brave,” said Judy Rouse, executive director of the Life Center.

Carson has told stories of his days as a pediatric surgeon, including participating in unusual surgeries performed on twins in the womb. The surgeries saved the lives of the two babies Carson met as adults, according to Rouse.

Carson is following in the footsteps of people like Mike Huckabee, Allen West, Jay Sekulow, Trey Gowdy and Jason Chaffetz, who traveled to Midland to speak at The Life Center event.

Rouse also said Carson reminded those in attendance that life begins in the womb, that there is a spiritual battle going on, and that saving this country means all Americans are stepping up – to “be brave and make the difference. good thing as God orders “.
