The Newcastle United Blog | Winger Target now likely to go on loan for a season – Report

Callum Hudson-Odoi could be set to leave Stamford Bridge on a season-long loan. The England winger has emerged as a potential Newcastle target along with teammates Conor Gallagher, Armando Broja and Christian Pulisic.

Evening Standard Chelsea correspondent Nizaar Kinsella reports that the 21-year-old has been dropped from selection for Chelsea’s U21 game against Fulham tonight due to rising interest on the loan.

The Chronicle earlier today revealed Hudson-Odoi was open to a move to Newcastle. There are plenty of suitors with Leicester City, Southampton, Dortmund and a number of European clubs also interested.

Hudson-Odoi hasn’t played for Chelsea so far this season but did bench against Spurs on Sunday. While manager Thomas Tuchel has been adamant in his wishes to keep Gallagher and Broja, he hasn’t been so firm on Hudson-Odoi.

Over the weekend, Tuchel said the following about the 21-year-old:

“It depends on what the player wants, how badly the player wants it, what we think, who is willing to pay a certain amount of money.”

Eddie Howe is determined to bolster his options in the final third with Hudson-Odoi and his aforementioned teammates on the radar. A bid for Benfica’s Goncalo Ramos could also be considered later this week.
