REM sleep, which means “rapid eye movement,” if you missed this science lesson, is the phase of sleep best known for being when you daydream and when your eyes physically move back and forth under your lids. Getting more REM sleep is linked to better memory function and better mood.

Many health experts believe that poor REM sleep – or a lack of REM sleep – is directly linked to many health problems, given that it occurs later in the sleep cycle, closer to waking up, and in people who do not get enough sleep. – or who have set their alarms too early – are deprived of them.

In all participants, having sex before falling asleep was associated with more REM sleep, especially for men, who got 10% more REM sleep than participants. Other positions that were particularly effective in producing more REM sleep included ‘the lotus’ (39% of participants experienced more REM sleep; this requires’ one partner to sit cross-legged and the other straddles them. with their faces together, ”Red explains online),“ the eagle ”(35%;“ it’s “like a missionary, but with the lower person’s legs parted”), and “the bridge” (30 %; “With both feet flat on the ground, support arms and hands, creating a bridge with your body, and your partner then positions himself between your legs”).
