ABOUT PONT SCHOOL
The Bridge School is an independent cooperative school serving children ages 5 to 11 (Kindergarten to Grade 5). We provide an education rich in exploration, community, interdisciplinary learning, and learning OUTSIDE the classroom. Our mission is to provide a progressive elementary program that promotes authentic learning throughout a child’s development. We are a cooperative school because we believe in the strength of the community working together to create a strong school program and we believe that every child and adult here has a unique role to play. To learn more about us, visit our website: http://www.BridgeSchoolCoop.org.
We provide a friendly, supportive, and collaborative work environment where we draw on the strengths of staff members, families, students, and the community to inspire teaching. Weekly staff meetings provide opportunities to listen, share ideas and have the voice you need as an educator and creativity is encouraged; our small size provides the flexibility to easily shift gears, discard what doesn’t work, and incorporate alternate approaches as needed. We believe that real learning happens with authentic experiences and that teachers are expected to extend the classroom into the community for field trips and outdoor excursions.
Basic academic program: Monday to Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
We are looking for qualified classroom teachers for the 2022-2023 school year. Our teachers have varied schedules, from full-time to part-time, depending on your availability and our current needs.
